My First Experience with RADIESSE
By Candy Small Q
To begin with, I am actually used to my “not-so-straight up” nose, and I know it’s something I have to accept. But, recently, I found my friends have become prettier than ever, and I have observed their noses are in nicely, lifted shapes. So, I had become reluctant to take a group picture after gatherings, because I kind of looked like their “side kick” or even a background for them to look prettier.
Things cannot continue like this, and that’s why I had decided to receive a nose job with RADIESSE. I Google about it and most said it can long approximately 1 year. I thought “why don’t I give it a shot?”. Even if it turned out to be strange, it would be gone in one year.
The moment I was at the door of NICE Clinic, I was actually not anxious at all. Perhaps it was because a nose job with RADIESSE doesn’t require “an actually surgery” with the “knives”.
The sofa in the public area was so 5-star and comfortable, and I was enjoying myself with the magazines and cookies. I kind of thought I was on a vacation but I was actually waiting for a nose job.
This is a photo of the advertised RADIESSE nose job.
This photo shows my poorly shaped nose.
Finally, it was my turn to talk to the doctor. The consultation room was neat and nice. The doctor was so patient towards all my questions, regardless of my worries, my expectations and my concerns. Here I want to suggest all readers that ask all the possible questions during consultation. It is good for both parties.
The doctor concluded the consultation by the portions of my face and suggested that RADIESSE would have to be applied not only to my nose, but also my chin so that the face would look perfectly balanced.
At the moment, I was asking myself “Is it necessary? My chin is already sharp!”. But I heard another voice inside me telling that I should trust the doctor.
I believed it would be fine and the doctor would do whatever that made my face look the best.

Once I entered the room, the aesthetician removed my makeup, but because I needed to take pictures, she left my eye makeup on. Only the makeup for my nose and chin was off.
Then, the aesthetician applied Anesthetic on my nose and chin.
The aesthetician explained to me that applying RADIESSE to my chin helped redefine the shape of my chin. She said that my face is in sharp oval shape but my forehead stands out a lot, and that’s why I always kept this teenager-looking hair bang. She further emphasized that RADIESSE would extend my face and I would be able to other types of hairstyles, which is GREAT!
My face was then wrapped and ice-padded for about 10 to 20 minutes while I was in the room waiting.
The aesthetician was nice. She helped me take a “Before” photo.
When the doctor came, he first measured how much the nose should be filled and lifted to get the perfect shape.
He performed his surgery gently so it didn’t hurt.
I took a mirror to see my “upgraded nose”, but it was too sharp. I told the doctor about it and he said he would make it more “natural”.
And once the chin was one, the proportion of my face looked right.
The doctor patiently explained that I might feel the new, upgraded nose shape, but the point is, after he worked on it, it looks natural now. This is the “After” photo.
I immediately took another selfie. The whole process worked so fine right after and I was already putting my makeup for my next place to go.
My chin is extended and my face is even well-proportioned. I look more mature now.
The smile in this photo is a little rigid because the anesthetic was still there.
The upstairs from where I was standing in the picture is the location of NICE Clinic. It took me a while to find it. Anyway, the doctor provided some medicine in case of allergy and swollen parts. If anything happens, just go back to have it taken care of. But I was too lazy to take medicine and to return for another diagnose. My “upgraded” nose is fine now.
When I got home, I took another selfie from the side. It’s so straight up and better.
This photo shows “A Week After”. I no longer spend time to put on shadows and it really looks natural. Actually, when I got home that day, my mom and dad didn’t even realize it.
